DESCRIPTION: Exercise #1:
Define your current status and establish an exit statement. The first step of a successful career discovery is to first identify your starting point. This is the location that you are currently at in your career. It is important for you to be able to answer one of the following questions depending on your current circumstance.
If you are a student or recent graduate, answer one of the following questions:

"Why did you choose your college major?"
"Why are you looking to get into this industry?"
"Why do you feel you are qualified for this position?"

If you are unemployed or looking to leave a job, develop an answer for one of the following questions:

"Why did you leave your last job?"
"Why are you looking to leave your job?"
"Why are you unemployed?"

Be as honest as possible with yourself. But, also, try to be as positive about your current situation as possible. Even if you just lost your job, there is no sense in being bitter or getting mad at your circumstances....
