Tambor is the next tool in the toolkit. Now that is the feel of your voice, how it feels, we tend to describe voices we like in the same way that we would describe a hot chocolate, rich, dark, warm, sweet, smooth, those kind of words. Now if that's not you don't panic, because you can change your tambor partly with the exercises I've already been recommending to you. And by the way, there's a sheet of these to go with this chapter so that you don't forget them. Partly with those exercises partly you can get a vocal coach. So simply go onto the internet, search on drama coach speaking coach, voice coach, singing coach, whatever it is, all of those probably, and you'll find people near you probably, who do these things.

Contact a few of them, see which ones you get on with on the phone, book out some trial sessions. Find one you really like working with Then do some work. I've done that in the past. And it's amazing when I speak on stage, even to audiences who all present regularly and I say how many people have had formal Vocal Coaching. Generally, it's one or two people in the room, even a room of thousand people, it'll be just five or maybe 10. at the most. It's rare.

And yet, this instrument we all play is magnificent. And in order to understand it, why not get some professional help? Why not get somebody who really understands how it works to work with you, and develop your skills and your mastery of this amazing instrument, and they can change your tambor almost entirely so if your voice is thin or scratchy, or croaky or high or whatever, it might be quiet. I've had people in my classes whose version of a shout is barely a whisper. Then work with a vocal coach and they can help you
