ESM 16.0 - Strategic examples is the the16th of 25 distinct and separate courses, referenced as Executive Safety Minutes (ESMs), available that teach the student how to be strategic in creating a plan to improve and/or maintain safety performance.
Being strategic is important because if one does not get the big picture strategy right the tactics may not be effective and ultimately prove to be a lost resource.
This Executive Safety Minute, like all the Executive Safety Minutes in the series, will introduce you to strategies that will make you a better professional and help you influence at the highest levels in your organization. This will boost your confidence, further develop your professional skillset, and help you influence strategic decisions.
This safety minute is a natural extension of Safety Minute 15 in that it adds additional depth to the knowledge provided in that safety minute and demonstrates via example that creating a forward strategy need not be difficult. This Executive Safety Minute:
Starts with an example titled the “Big picture” strategy,
Is followed by an example titled the “Cascading plan” strategy, and
Finishes with an example titled “Ownership by the site” strategy.
