The fifth Learning Module of this curriculum is Conducting the Job Search. Two of the most common frustrations job seekers have when it comes to the job search are finding the right opportunities and getting job interviews. Few job seekers realize that typically less than 25% of all jobs are found using online job boards such as Monster.com and CareerBuilder. In many cases, only about 35% to 45% of all advertised jobs are for actual and current openings. The rest of the postings have either been filled, or exist to uncover potential interest in future opportunities, or are posted to build candidate pools for future requirements. Just sending r&eacute;sum&eacute;s online is not a viable job search strategy. There is a hidden job market where job seekers can find jobs way before they are ever posted.
