These feelings and thoughts can impair our decision-making abilities. As someone in recovery, developing your ability to make good decisions is crucial.
If you encounter a potential relapse trigger while holding onto bottled-up emotions, you might not be able to think clearly or rationally. Being in control of your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs may be a novel idea. When people think of mental health, they often start thinking about conditions they’ve heard of, such as depression or anxiety.
