I absolutely love talking about spirituality and not just in the context of addiction and recovery, either. Before we dive too deep into this topic, please understand that spirituality is not equal to religiosity or being religious. Everyone has different experiences when it comes to spirituality and their religious beliefs.
Many of the spiritual beliefs you have may stem from your early childhood; your ideas were probably nurtured in a family environment. Because we live in a predominantly Christian nation (although it’s likely this will no longer be the case in years to come), I’ve worked with many Christians who told me about regular church visits, Sunday school events, and more.
