DESCRIPTION: Pre-license requirements
• Meet general licensing provisions (see above).• 63 classroom hours of FREC-approved courses or a 4-year degree in real estate.• Florida attorneys are exempt from course requirements but must pass the license exam.• Submit application, fingerprints, and fee.• Pass the state license exam with a grade of 75% or higher within 2 years of course completion.• Applicants who fail the exam are allowed to review the exam.• Activate license.
Post-license education requirements
• 45-hour FREC-approved course prior to initial license expiration or 4-year degree in real estate to include a minimum of 15 hours of instruction.• Pass the end-of-course exam with a 75% score.• Failure to complete requirements by the expiration date results in the license becoming null and void.• Qualified hardship cases extend the completion deadline to 6 months after the expiration date.
