So now it's your turn to last I hear you cry. Before you start, I just going to give you a few more little tips about searching the parish registers. And don't worry, I'll be putting this onto a document that you can download. So, it start by using the information you have gathered from the census records and start your parish register search from that information. Now, I would recommend that you start by looking for the people in the census records. And even though you census gives you quite a lot of information about them, you want to have more specific information that you can get from the parish registers.

And so it will add to what you already know. But it also make it an easier search as you can match up your findings against the census, and vice versa. So you can work backwards and forwards between the census and the parish registers to start with. Now, do take your time and work methodically. So as I have said before, search for baptism, then the siblings, and then the marriage of the parents. Now, burials, not always well covered online, but certainly search for burials to you want to have the information about when an ancestor died.

And also that can give you an approximate Date of Birth if you don't already have that. Now, don't make assumptions. I can't stress that enough. If there's any doubt that you have the right person, you need to start For other records for clues. Remember that once your research takes you beyond the senses, it does get trickier. It does get slower, you don't have the information from the census, particularly a place of birth to help you. So, expect it to slow up as I say, See my next lecture. And before you do go on to the next lecture, try and get at least one or two generations or even three if you can, before you go on to the lecture and remember To add all your findings to your family tree and pedigree charts that you started at the beginning of the course, and hopefully you will get a sense of achievement to see how your family tree is developing and growing.
