Now the seventh thing I want to do, and this kind of goes along with the other one, but you need a clean desk, I don't want you to have anything that is just something you're not going to use. If you have things that are stacking up oftentimes in mail, that's what I always saw for my parents and other business owners, they always come and visit, you got mail stacked up on your desk. That's not where it belongs. If you have mail, I'm going to tell you, it's part of this schedule where you're going to write down your to do list you know, and I want you to write things down in terms of one hour chunks, don't go crazy. Don't try and do you know 1530 minutes, etc. Just write it down.
Make, make it so that everything around you is organized when you have a clean desk, your mail, if you get mail in the morning, fine. But what you need to do is plan that in your to do list so that you're going through You know, male, or male sort, whatever that is. So that way you can get those things off your desk. That should be the first thing that you do every morning along with what I consider to be micro tasks. And micro tasks. If you already have a clean desk, this is what I'm going to talk a little bit about as well.
Micro tasks are things that you can do in under five minutes. All right. So when you're really trying to think of how to get your day started on the right foot, if you get 10 things on your to do list done and they're obviously the shorter, smallest micro tasks, but you can get 10 things done right away. The rest of your day feels good. I mean, you're obviously gonna push to get everything done, but it's getting started on the right foot to make sure that you end on the right one as well. And this is what this is all about having a clean desk having a to do list if you have mail if you have anything everyday that you know clutters up your desk I know for my parents when they had franchise, it being a business owner and trying to manage 5060 people at a time, you're gonna have a lot of things on your desk and that's quite alright but you need to make sure that that desk gets cleaned off quickly and efficiently, as quick as much as you can keep up on that.
When you have a clean desk you have everything around you organized properly, it's going to make sure that your mind isn't just in a kebab, which makes it very hard, very hard. I've witnessed my own mother having issues with doing something that she's done for 20 years non stop and because of her desk being completely cluttered and papers and god knows what else, she's literally just, I always would hear just that ruffling of papers and books and things like that, because you're trying to get to what you need. A clean desk will eliminate all of those issues.
