Okay, this one is probably going to seem pretty simple, pretty obvious, but a lot of people don't do this. label things. All right? When you label things, especially if you keep a lot of manila folders, or you keep a lot of, you know what I would consider, let me just kind of, Oh, it's a little bit back there. But like I said, that little briefcase that I have, you know, I have some that are other orange, black, yellow, green, all of these things, let me know, when it's black. It's all taxes when it's green.
It's all current projects I'm working on when it's orange. This is you know, personnel items, you know, things that I may need to improve with my website or my system or things like that, or, you know, feedback or all those types of things. So you need to make sure that you label things and labeling things doesn't take much time but making sure that you do it is going to be a big deal. difference and knowing if you have everything in the right areas. And like I said, that proximity, playing into the factor, if you have things labeled, when they're within your proximity, you can have 10 things in front of you. But if you know those, you know, I'll make it a little bit more simplistic.
You know, you have three things in front of you, all of a sudden, when you have things that are, you know, color coded. Say that's red. That's green. That's blue. All of a sudden, now you're able to recognize what's going on what you need to, you know, look for, oh, all this green, you know, this is my finances. So, I'm obviously you know, going to if I'm not dealing with anything financial, then I don't need to even look towards that green folder, anything that's inside of it.
So labeling things is going to make your life a lot easier. And getting labels is quick, easy, you can usually you just use what's known as post it notes. You know, those are just those little yellow or pink or even blue, sometimes little things that come off. Gosh, I wish I could draw better for you. But basically, you know, they come off like that. Got a little stack of them.
And you just flip them off, and you can stick them anywhere that you want. I do this all the time when it comes to creation of things, especially when in the middle. I hate having things inside my mind. And I won't say that in the sense of I have bad memory. Everyone has amazing memory. We just don't use it often.
But I'd like to keep myself stress free. And you're going to become a lot less stressed when you write things down. For example, my to do list when I label things inside of there, right write these things down. It's now out of my mind. Out of the forefront. I can focus on what I'm actually doing.
Because I have these things written down somewhere and I don't have to constantly subconsciously even remind myself. Remember to do this. Remember to think about that. Remember that you got to do this. Remember that you need to change. It's too much work for your brain and it's easier just to label, get it written down, get it out of your mind, and you're going to end up thinking a lot more clearly, which of course will increase your productivity and your workflow.
