The importance of examining our values and beliefs is that they impact very much how we see and respond to the world around us unconsciously. They are the filters that interpret what we see and how we respond. This is seen in many corporations that design their performance review process around their core values and beliefs. As the corporation roles out their performance review process, they inform and educate the members of the organization on the values, behaviors, and practices that align with their Values.
The core values are also used to evaluate policies and procedures. All these practices are used to foster consistency and develop a unified corporate culture. The strategic framework, including the core values, becomes a critical tool in attracting and hiring new employees. These same principles and practices apply to you as a person and those with who you live and socialize.
