Here are some issues that impact negatively on a growth mindset. how we think about ourselves and our business impacts upon our attitudes, our performance and outcomes. distorted thinking isn't the reality of a situation, it can make a problem seem hard to resolve because you're imagining the worst case scenario, it's easy to personalize the situation. What did I do wrong? Why did I not do that as well as I could? That thinking isn't helpful and sometimes playing victim or trying to be responsible for everything will not help.
You may even use absolute words which can over dramatize the situation. Ask yourself if you regularly use the words all every nun, never always everybody or nobody That's not being specific and to resolve issues you need to drive down into the detail. Another distortion is that you may polarize your thinking to extremes. To come down any distortions it's important to face your concerns head on. Often grappling with the reality rather than imagining dire scenarios can help you feel more in control, you realize you have more options than you might have surmised. And it helps to put things in perspective.
If something went wrong, analyze what you did, and take steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. That's part of the learning process.
