In this lesson video, we are going to tweak with us UI so it fits more with our digital painting workflow. This is one of the key ingredients for speed, illustration creation. Now, don't get me wrong here. I don't want to force you to exactly follow my UI preferences. You can have your own UI layout and your own keyboard shortcuts later. But for now, to make things less confusing, just copy exactly what I'm about to do.

So we have the same starting point, at least with this lesson, you will have some experience of tweaking the layout. Okay, first, let's pick the default workspace. To do that, we can click in here, and then choose default. Okay, the status bar down here. It's not really useful for us, and it's taking some space in our UI. I rather have a horizontal space for To the toolbox, then for the status bar, we also won't be using this zoom slider to zoom in and out of the canvas.

To hide the status bar, we can open the View menu, we can see show status bar in here, click on it to hide it. Now we don't see any status bar down here anymore. Next, I won't be using these scroll bars to pan around the canvas, so let's just hide them. To do that, go to the settings menu, configure Krita and then choose the display section in here, you will find this option height window scroll bars, turn this option on and then click the OK button. Next, we want to drag this toolbox to the top area. To do that, we can press and hold on this bar in here.

Drag this to the top until we see the highlight preview like this. Then release to confirm. We want to have smaller eyes And also only one role. To do that, we need to right click on any of the tool, we can see the icon size option in here. Let's be 12 by 12 size, which is the smallest one at the top. Now, you don't really need to use this small icon sizes, especially if you have high resolution monitor.

I do this because I am using HD resolution 720 pixel high for this video recording. With these smaller icons, we can have more room for a canvas view. Okay, next, drag this dots handle up like this. So we have only one row for all of the tools up here. Okay, next, we need to move the advanced color selector and also the tool options to the left. To do that, first we need to click this button to undock the Docker.

Drag this until we see the highlight at the left side and then release now Next, click on this undock button of the tool options Docker, then move this Docker so it is below the color selector Docker, direct this dots handle so we can see all of the buttons at the tool options Docker, then move these dots handle up and down until the color selector areas is at its optimum size. Personally, I never need the overview Docker. So I just closed this Docker by clicking in here for Brush Preset and brush history, just close both of them. Finally, we will never need to use the channel Docker in Photoshop channel panel is important as we can do a lot of things in the panel. Unfortunately, by the time I record, the Video Creators channel, Docker still has a very limited functionality. So let's just close it for now.

Okay, after we have our custom UI set up like this, we should save this later. RS workspace preset. To do that, click on workspace preset list up here. Give it a name. I'll name it just widi. So later, I can tell that this one is my personal UI layout.

You can name it with your own name, or any name you like. Then click the Save button. So now, notice when we scroll this list, we have our custom preset listed in here.
