Welcome to part two, where stress comes from. Now that you've gotten to meet your stress brain a little bit deeper, let's go more into the natural stress versus the false stress. So as a reminder, the natural stress is useful stress, we need this kind of stress to let us know when our life is truly in danger. On the other hand, false stress comes from our interpretation of the events in the world. So there are circumstances that we can control that happen in the world. And then there is our interpretation of these things that happen in the world.

And these interpretations are basically sentences that we are thinking in our mind. So there's things that happen in the world and then there are thoughts about what happening in the world. And it's our thought that actually causes us to feel that stress in our body. How do we know that this is not just how it's created for everyone? It's because when there's different circumstances in the world, people tend to have different reactions to it. Some people are not stressed, whereas other people are very stressed.

So how is that the case? It's because their interpretations of what is going on in the world is different. They have different thoughts in their head than the person next to them, or the person on the other side of the world. So what we want to do is really get to know what are the sentences that are happening in side of our brain? How are we interpreting the things in our life? How are we interpreting the world It is causing us to feel more stressed out.

So how we're going to do this is we're going to find out what is in our brain. So in order to manage our stress, it's our job to find out what are these sentences that are going through in the back of our head, that are causing us to feel stressed. Now, when we're first doing this work, it's going to be interesting to actually separate out the facts from our thoughts because we tend to think our thoughts are facts. We think this is an absolutely true statement. And we believe it's so hard that we hold on to it like it is a fact. But I'm going to teach you and show you how to actually separate out the fact that is happening in the world.

From the sentence that is in your brain, separating this out can to open up that pathway of opportunity to reduce your stress over time, it's going to give you perspective and help you see things in a different light. This is a practice that will build over time. So right now I want you to just be curious and allow yourself to just try this out and see how we can separate a fact from a sentence in your mind. And I'm going to do an example with you to show you what that looks like. Alright, so what you're going to see now is how we are separating the facts from your thoughts. So what you're going to do is look at what the facts are and what the thoughts are.

Okay, so I'm going to walk you through an example here. So here's an example of a fact that rent is due on the first first of the month. Okay, why is effect effect is something that can be proven in the court of law anywhere in the entire world it is agreed upon with the entire human race. It is a fact that can be proven. Okay. So typically rent is in a contract.

So you can prove that rent is due on the first in your contract. Okay? We're going to use this financial example because a lot of stress comes from a lot of people tend to stress around finances. So we're using this example around rent. Alright, so rent is due on the first, this is a fact. Now, what might be the thought that you have around rent?

Okay, so the thought might be I don't know how I'm going to pay the rent. Right? So this may have actually been the first thing that came up for you. You may have written down that one of the stressors in my life are paying rent. Right? So for you, it seems like a fact you're like, yeah, paying rent is stressful, because it's just what you're used to thinking.

But when you actually take that, take your stressor, and separate what is the fact here from the thought you're able to see? What is the sentence in your brain versus what is actually the fact the fact here is that the rent is due on the first and the thought is, I don't know how I'm going to pay rent. When you think this thought, it's likely you are going to feel stressed out because you're like, Oh my god, I don't know how I'm going to pay rent. That feels stressful. Even just saying it out right now. I can just feel the stress in my body for someone who is thinking that.

Okay, so this is an example of how you would take your stressor that you have That list that we did in the last video, and then you break out what is the fact? And what is the thought here? All right. So now I want you to step into your creativity muscles and think, what are some other thoughts that maybe someone else would think, with this same fact that would not cause stress, it would cause a different kind of feeling. So I want you to get creative and think about if this is the fact that rent is due on the first what are some other thoughts that people could be thinking, who are not stressed out who are not having that same thought as you? Just take a minute to think about that for a second before I show you the example.

So what could someone else be thinking on the other side of the world? So one person could potentially be thinking, Okay, cool. rent is due on the first right Just not really much emotion or thought around it like it feels pretty neutral. Okay, cool. Another one could be, oh, let me set up a recurring withdrawal. So I don't forget.

So that could be somebody else's thought about this fact. Another one can be, I haven't told the 25th to create my rent money. So do you see how the different thoughts in our head, create the stress that we are feeling? The stress is coming from our thoughts in our stress brain. Now, this may make sense as I'm explaining it to you. But what I want you to think about or just remember is that when we are in our heads, it's really hard to separate the facts from the thoughts unless we actually sit there and intentionally do it.

Because our Our minds have been operating and conditioning and living in the same way for the past years and years and years for decades. And sick. I think it's 70% of our thoughts are exactly the same as they were yesterday as they were yesterday as they were yesterday as they were yesterday. So it's likely you've been thinking the same thoughts for decades at a time. So for you, it may be a fact in your brain in your stress brain, that paying rent is stressful. It just may be a fact to you in your brain.

But is it really a fact? Or is that just your thought? That is a thought that is a sentence that is living in your brain because if it was a fact, it would have been true for everyone, every single person on the whole planet But that's not the case. There are some people that rent is not stressful. So why don't you just start even considering the idea or the possibility that maybe we can have different thoughts about different things, and we can shift them in a way that actually serves us, and allows us to show up and create whatever it is whatever result that we're trying to create. So can we actually choose our thoughts?

Can we actually think on purpose? You absolutely can. And I want you to consider that that is actually possible, that it is maybe possible that we can actually choose the thoughts that we're choosing to think and putting into our brain and we can actually shift To relationship with stress and shift our relationship with our stress brain. It's going to be so magnificent for us to go through this discovery process to find out what kinds of sentences are causing us stress. And I'm going to show you a tool that's going to help you kind of see that clearer. And then what to do from there because it's not as easy from just saying, Okay, I'm just gonna think this new thing now, or even to get to that new thought.

It's a process. And I'm going to show you that process and over time, it's going to become easier and easier for you to step into this
