DESCRIPTION: Deportation of a traveller can occur when the traveller has boarded a plane, flown to a destination and upon arrival at immigration/customs, is found to be in contravention of any country regulation and who is not permitted to enter the country.
This is an extremely embarrassing and humiliating experience for the traveller as they are often handcuffed and led back to the aircraft by immigration/customs officials. They are treated as criminals and official deportation can mean the traveller will not be permitted to enter that country again within the next ten (10) years. Their passport is stamped with a red deported stamp and even transiting through that country is not permitted for the deportation period.
This can cause havoc for a business traveller and it must be emphasised to consultants/bookers that the most frequent reason for traveller deportation is due to the traveller not having the correct visa or not having complied with the correct health regulations such as yellow...
