DESCRIPTION: Consultants/bookers must insist on receiving a copy of the traveller’s passport as soon as the traveller’s initial request for a quote comes through, this will cover the consultant in terms of potential liability issues later.
If the passport is no longer valid the consultant must advise the traveller/booker immediately and advise them on the process of how to request a new passport.
Validity checks for a passport:

Check the expiry date.
The expiry date must be at least six (6) months after the expected date of return of the traveller, in the country of departure
There must be at least two pages clear, next to each other.
If all of these are not in order, then a new passport will need to be applied for by the traveller. Biometrics need to be done so it is not possible for anyone but the traveller to apply for their passport.
