Most travel insurance policies are applicable to international travel. Values are therefore calculated in accordance with the number of travellers and number of days travellers will be away from their home base. It is preferable to work on annual data, but should this not be available, a minimum requirement of 3 months travel data is required, which can then be annualised to ascertain average annual international travel stats.
Insurance policy premiums are also calculated according to the average number of days a traveller is away from home on any given trip. Should a traveller be at an international destination for longer than 180 days continuously, does a separate individual policy and premium needs to be negotiated?
