DESCRIPTION: It is difficult to pick up if there is complicity between a specific booker and a traveller, but this must be on the consultants’ radar. In companies where unauthorised trips have taken place, it has shown that invariably the traveller and their booker are working together.

Travellers may wish to travel more frequently when they are in financial trouble – the reason being they are likely to receive a subsistence and travel allowance for every day away from home. Fuel advances can also be requested by travellers but when the distance driven is checked, they do not have the slips for the advances and must therefore repay the amount to the company. This buys them a bit of time as the reimbursement only becomes due the following month.
Any booker who consistently is pushing the consultants to confirm bookings without having sent through the final approval mail/form must be advised that until such time as the approval comes through, that they may not proceed...
