DESCRIPTION: Conferences and events have specific risk management needs that differ from the standard travel requirements.
Included amongst these are the following:

Fire and emergency procedures.
Venues must have the correct regulatory signage clearly displayed at the correct vantage points for all emergency evacuation procedures.
The safety cards must be clearly displayed in the rooms &ndash; usually behind or next to the main doors to the venue.
Fire equipment, whether hose reels, fire extinguishers, or hydrants must be valid (not expired) and must be clearly visible. This is one of the pre-checks needing to be done on the venue prior to confirming the venue for the event.&nbsp;
Emergency exits must be clearly distinguishable, with routes to them uncluttered, thereby ensuring delegates can reach the exits safely.
Fire doors must-have emergency keys close by for easy access to breaking the glass and gain access to the safety door.
