Your introvert superpowers. Time to stop focusing on your kryptonite and bring your attention to your superpowers. Wherever you will learn how to apply your superpowers and use them to your advantage in marketing. Have you ever been asked what your superpower would be if you were a superhero? I always struggled to pick between being able to fly and being invisible, typically introverted answers, thinking the two superpowers that would let me escape extroverted situations. But more than being a fun game to play when you're six.

This is a great question to ask yourself throughout life. Your superpowers don't have to be extraordinary or win any awards, let alone save the word Well, there are simply the abilities you have that come easy to you than most people. And that energizes you the most individually, they may not strike you as special at all. In fact, until you go through this class, you might not be aware of them at all. But when you do identify them and start to harness them more You start to see evidence of your true capabilities. Stop focusing on your kryptonite.

Introverts tend to be especially crypts critical of themselves, because of our tendency to focus inward so much. Unsurprisingly, treating yourself critically can easily reduce your self esteem. low self esteem makes life a lot more challenging. In short, you want to bolster your self esteem, not tear it down. It does serve us to be critical when it comes to honing our skills. Being able to accurately assess where you're at is one of the core ingredients to getting to where you want to go.

But there'll be nothing to assess and improve that without first acknowledging what your superpowers are. Not sure what your superpowers are yet. That's okay. Here are some ideas to get the ball rolling based on what is known about the nature of introverts. One, the superpower of thoughtfulness. This is particularly helpful when it comes to communication with others.

It means an introvert doesn't blurt out any old thing, and can be more deliberate and diplomatic in their speech. It also means that we're less likely to make hasty judgments and risk decisions, which can land an extrovert in hot water. The superpower of focus, introverts can pay close attention to those who they're speaking to, which is great if you're speaking to one person. But even at a larger scale, this can be picked up. For example, a speaker on stage will often be able to notice if there's somebody paying true attention to them. And this will mean a lot to them.

You get to be that person. The superpower of introspection. the bedrock of this class is really self knowledge, which may be because I'm an introvert who values introspection so much. But I don't know of any type of person who wouldn't acknowledge the value in being more self aware. And introverts are naturally primed for self inquiry. The philosopher Plato asked why Should we not calmly and patiently review our thoughts and thoroughly exam and see what these appearances in us really are?

Maybe he was an introvert too. Let's say you've used your empathy superpowers. You've used your profound listening skills and your superfans. What then? Now it's time to listen to yourself. Despite the introspective habits of great philosophers to modern day neuroscientists, the majority of people spend little to no time truly investigating themselves in a meaningful way.

This doesn't mean navel gazing and thinking about what house Hogwarts you'd best be suited to, though that is fun. It's about using what you know about yourself to inform what you know about others, and working out ways to act on those insights. Whether you're assessing the results of a survey you sent out, or thinking about copy for your latest product listing. A good dose of introspection will go far. It's the ability to reflect on what you've done in the past. what worked, what didn't work, as well as weigh up your future choices.

It's reflecting on what specifically works for your personality type and preferences. Without disability, your market research and marketing efforts will be wasted unless you strike it very lucky. Chances are the reason those overnight successes that you never hear of again failed is because of a lack of introspection the superpower of independence compared to extroverts who rely very heavily on the responses and feedback of others, introverts are less concerned with the outside world. This is particularly true of the more left brained analytical introverts, usually is TJs INTJ is TPS en teepees Mati often Laney goes into this in greater depth. In his book, The introvert advantage, how to thrive in an extrovert world. In addition, this gives introverts a greater ability to be more selfless, to create From a place that is not driven by vanity, or muddled by the opinions of others, and the superpower of empathy.

I don't believe this or any other skill I mentioned is reserved for introverts alone, but there is research to suggest that introverts are naturals at SSA, accessing empathy. Empathy is a great skill and whether it comes naturally to you or you learn to develop it. It means people are quick to trust you and feel less threatened by you. However, I should point out that not only introverts are empathic, because we all experience empathy to a greater or lesser degree. It's worth noting though, that there are two different types of empathy. cognitive and affective.

Cognitive empathy is also known as shallow empathy means that you can look at people and sense their mood. You can notice and responds to body language cues, but you don't really feel it or internalize what you pick Up. extroverts tend to use this type of empathy, more. affective empathy, also known as deep empathy means you're slower to read a person or a crowd. But once you are aware of it, you start feeling the same way you begin to feel as the other person does, and try to deeply understand what they're feeling. For better or for worse, introverts appear to have a preference for affective empathy, and will feel things more deeply.

How does empathy fit into marketing? Well, for one, it's the ability to tailor your pitch specifically for the recipient, making it all about them and less about you. The result is that our pitch, whether it's in an email, or in a blog post, or in person, expresses how much we care. And that goes a long way when it comes to someone liking and trusting us enough to fork over that cash. So how does one apply these innate empathy skills to start, work out exactly what your audience needs, wants to size and how you can make it happen for them. For example, I worked out that helping a community of health and wellness professionals in my city would be a great way for me to make a name for myself.

When I was starting out from scratch as a freelancer, why them, I understood their niche because I'd spent three years as a healthy lifestyle blogger myself, I knew their audience, and I knew how to reach them, plus my design and marketing skills, and then I could create a package really tailored to their needs. So when it came to reaching out to local businesses, I didn't just say, hey, stranger, I do this and I'm amazing, and I've worked with them and who don't you want to work with me? No. Instead, I matched their needs to my skill set and customized my approach. After doing my research on each and every potential new client. It worked rather well with about a 40% reply rate and 25% becoming new loyal clients for my design and marketing services.

Considering these were cold pitches, I was new in town after all, these are pretty great results. Six The power the superpower of listening. Now this is the biggie. Yes, it can certainly help to have a gift of the gab as a creative. You can spread your ideas to others negotiate when you need something and talk endlessly about your latest greatest projects. But listening is a skill that can strengthen a relationship and is required to connect on a deep and meaningful level with others.

For example, a study by Adam Grant revealed that employees were more likely to be productive and productive under introverted leadership, as they felt more encouraged and listened to. He found that extroverted leaders are more likely to feel threatened by employee productivity, and less likely to listen to suggestions from staff. You may not feel like a leader that you become one as soon as you decide to take matters into your own hands and reach a wider audience in order to make a living from your creative work. an introverted creative can go fast, simply by using their natural skills to do more listening than speaking People want to be heard, listening to your customers or even potential customers automatically change your relationship with them, founding it on trust and their faith, that you're the one that that they want to support or higher. Listening could be asking people what they like about something that already exists, and what bugs them about it.

You could also listen to conversations in cafes that your potential audience might hang out at. It's surprising what you can learn from just a cheeky, cheeky cover. Then there's listening to your existing or past clients or customers, letting them share what they really think about your work and what they need. Now. The next step is using what you hear. This means playing back what you hear, but in your own words.

Rather than continue to ask more questions, you make statements. You check that what you heard, means what you think, then that you can take what you heard and make it the foundation of your next idea. presented, whether it's an in an item description, sales pitch or new product What's this now for strong opinions, positive or negative pain points problems, irrational loves obsessions, comparisons to existing ideas, products or brands, and anything that brings up an emotional response places to listen. cafes, coffee shops, on social media. try searching a hashtag related to your niche in your client or customer testimonials. You can send surveys and you can see the resources for a template on that.

What to do with what you have. Use it in website copy, use an email copy. And by copy I just mean the the text on your website or email. Use it in a product listing. Use it when pitching an idea. So the assignment is in the resources but basically, your action steps to list out your superpowers, and if you're not sure what your unique superpowers are, that's understandable.

One of the mistakes people make when identifying their superpowers is that they immediately think of their abilities in areas that society tends to deem the most important. You might think of your academic history, and how difficult you found mouth, you might think of your sporting achievements and remember that you were always picked last for teens. In focusing on the big, obvious and actually less significant roles society has suggested that you play, you end up missing the superpowers that you really do have in other areas. So it can help to think about something that doesn't feel emotionally loaded. For example, baking cakes with your mom when you were a child, or baking cakes with your children. Now, what about you shines in these moments?

Are you endlessly patient? Are you a stickler for detail? Are you unnatural in the kitchen and rarely have to follow a recipe? It's these little moments that bring us joy. They start entity and feel so easy to us that points what actual superpowers
