Whenever we create a smart contract of a coda blockchain between two parties, it will also create a side ledger different from the primary ledger between the two parties. Every process and transaction done for the lifecycle of the smart contract will happen on the side ledger. Once all the details have been finalized, then the finality of the smart contract will be placed on the main ledger.

Coda offers Point to Point communication. This means only participants of a transaction can see what is happening in the trends And no one else will be able to look at the communications. With coders Point to Point architecture. Participants only have copies of the transactions that they are participants to or are observers of. This means that every node in a coder network is likely to have a unique ledger. This is also called as multilateral ledger.
