Hi and welcome. In this lecture, we'll be talking about the second key productivity principle, proper and effective time management. It is a crucial aspect of our productivity expectations and results is it enables us to achieve them in a well organized manner and at a steady pace. First, let's consider this tactic in a broad sense, rather than strictly professional. It is in fact a valuable principle of life as a whole. So my advice is to start with the general and then continue with the more specific points.

Think of your situation and set a certain time balance between work in play, devote enough time to your work goals, but do not neglect your personal needs. You will feel more complete and confident when you're able to benefit from the advantages of both. Now, let us turn our attention to Work. Again, it is mostly up to you to draw up the best schedule for yourself. I would actually recommend you make a written schedule and adhere to it for a couple of weeks to see whether it is appropriate for you. If changes are required, do not be afraid to make them at any time.

A highly effective approach is to break your daily tasks into chunks and put time limits on them. Think of your daily routine and personal strength in decide what is the time of day you feel is most productive for you do have harder and easier tasks. If you do it will be wise to work on the harder tasks during the most productive period when your focus is better and you will deal with them with ease. I would also recommend to take more time to do the harder tasks and leave less time for the other ones. In this way, scheduling will be even easier for You, you will just have to define the chunk sizes. A good example is the Pomodoro Technique developed by Francisco Cirillo in the late 1980s.

Traditionally, 25 minutes of work followed by a five minute break is considered one pomodoro. I use this technique on a daily basis, and the more I use it, I tend to increase the minutes of work and the minutes of break. Right now my pomodoro hours or 15 minutes of focus work in 10 minutes breaks, your break is critically important. So take full advantage of it. You should start small with this Pomodoro Technique and then tailor it with the time in your situation. Create something like a time budget do not overspend time on things that don't matter.

Focus on your goals and schedule and with time you will find out how effective you have become. And when I say focus really do mean Focus, focus on one task in completed, you might find it a little difficult at first, but do try to put your brain at work for this one, even if it costs you a little more in the beginning. avoid distractions by all means, do not allow your mind to create inner walls. If you have successfully eliminated outside distractions. You have probably heard of Parkinson's Law in the humoristic concept. it perfectly fits our topic today.

According to it, work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion. In other words, if you plan to complete a task in a certain time period, you will work at a pace that gets it finished in that exact amount of time. As you can see, the time limit and focus concepts intertwine and are unbreakable parts of the whole productivity principle we're considering today. They help If you work at a sustainable pace and observe progress in improvement in your productivity, some days, you might not stick to the schedule, it's perfectly okay. So do not be harsh on yourself. Try to keep with it as much as possible, but do allow yourself little escapades from time to time.

Alright, let's recap. effective time management is one of the most important principles of productivity is a general concept. It means a good time balance between work and leisure. Create a schedule define time limits and break work into chunks. You could use the Pomodoro Technique. Work on a determined time budget in focus.

Remember Parkinson's Law be strict but do not let schedule pressure get to you. It is okay to cheat once in a while. Thank you for watching.
