In this video I'm going to show you how to make a vegan alkaline roast lunch. So I don't know about you but I love going out for Sunday rose lunch. I absolutely love it. Yeah, it's really nice. I used to love sitting down with family and eating meat and the roast potatoes and the vegetables and the gravy before it became vegan. But as a vegan I can enjoy it just as much.
So I'm going to show you how to make a really healthy alkaline version of a rose lunch pretty simple, pretty simple. And I'm going to make this video quick and another video I'm going to show you how to do the outline roast potatoes perfectly cooked alkaline rose potatoes. But let's outline or let's go through what is in your vegan lunch and how you can without the meats without the Yorkshire Putting the stuff still make it very tasty and how to build the flavor and still enjoy it and not have the afternoon slump that everybody does. When I go out for lunch with friends and they have the meat and the roast potatoes and stuffing and the Yorkshire puddings. Without fail they always feel tired in the afternoons by having my beacon verse lunch, I get all the flavor I still feel completely satisfied. But I've got energy in the afternoons I don't feel sluggish.
I feel light and energized. So first, I've got a selection of vegetables and I'm just gonna chop it up and I'm going to bring it to the boil. So we got peas, we've got carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage. So that's our standard fetch for our rose lunch. We're just going to borrow those literally for five minutes. In the meanwhile, our potatoes are roasting in the oven.
Wow. Let's just have a little look at these show you how nice they are. So beacon rows. So as I mentioned, these are Go on to how to make these in another video but look how perfectly cook these are. These are cooked for just under an hour. And they're pretty much done now so in the last five to 10 minutes you want to put in your badge on your badge.
Let's make the gravy next. So next we're going to make our gravy Now I use the gravy we're going to have callow organic french onion stock cube so these are I love Carlo for stock. So all that's in this is what's in the on fixing but we've got Sea Salt, Oil, maize starch, roasted onion powder, onions, yeast, yeast extract, natural unknown, spices, turmeric, pepper hubs, parsley, Lovage leaves, RoseMarie time, so this is the this is our stock for gravy so we're just gonna put in Stop keep in a little cup, a little bit of pepper don't eat salt the salt in it. Then we're just going to add a little bit of boiling water so this isn't going to be gravy you could add some if you wanted to. I don't particularly like adding corn flowers which can add a little bit of boiling water or use a small bit to start with so you can stop cute dissolve and mix it around.
So bear in mind I'm just making this for one at the moment it was cooking for a large family you'd be doubling up or tripling or quadrupling up on all these ingredients. So potato wise I'm using 750 grams of potatoes and a bit more to that. And I think that will do is it's going to be like I said it's going to be a fin gravy. Just use this on the vegetables anytime seasoning so it to replace the meat we want to add flavor with other things. So we're going to up the amount of veggies that's the key is upping the amount of potatoes so 750 grams of roast potatoes all for me. I'm just going to replace the calories from the meat Yorkshire puddings etc.
And to flavor the potatoes. We're going to have the gravy but we've also got some mustard, mustard, tomato capture and some cranberry sauce. So that's going to flavor our roast and we've got our vegetables as well. Look at them. Ha, roast potatoes bubbling away they're gone. Done.
Just put it all onto the desk and just serve it up super easy. plates. There's diversity. So what I'll do is I'm just going to use half to start with and then I'll come back for seconds during the batch again for good about gravy, I'm gonna add a mustard on the side. Tomato ketchup, cranberry sauce brah I'm with dumb. So this is a truly healthy, alkaline, low fat, super delicious version of a roast and this is my first portion I've got an equal amount that I'm gonna have for my second portion.
Gorgeous. Let's go eat
