So in this video we're going to make pasta marinara sauce, tomato pasta. very quick, very simple, healthy, low fat Italian tasting. I don't know about you but I get I do crave pastor pastor as a comfort food of mine. So you can use organic, organic family pasta. You can use whatever you want. You can use spaghetti.
I would normally use spaghetti but I run out at the moment. So spaghetti, fusilli, anything as long as it's just durum wheat I often use spelt past as well. So if you leave wheat This is ganache but you can use yes spelt pastor corn pastor gone spaghetti so you choose to pass the type. And then we're going to make a very simple version of a marinara sauce without the meats without cheese without the hormones that pass, then animals without their cholesterol artery clogging. We're gonna make it delicious, simple, vegan, alkaline. So the first thing to do is to weigh out 100 grams per person of your pasta, or spaghetti.
I would say, go between 100 and 150 grams, basically, per person. I'm not feeling mega hungry today. I'm not going to be exercising much so just go with 100 100 then you want to bring that in, you want to bring that to the boil on the pan and then while this is cooking, be cutting the vegetables sliding out of the boiling water out in a fair amount of water because we can add in the vegetables in about five minutes. And then we're just going to turn around and leave that to boil. So here's my little selection of vegetables for getting us to go with the pastor. Broccoli, mushrooms, tomato, a little bit of red pepper, and a little baby shallot.
That's all are chopped vegetables ready to go in the pan. So given that the pastor's cooking for about 12 or 13 minutes, then this lot will go in about six minutes before the end. The mushrooms you want to provide six minutes roughly could burn a little bit less, but I'm just going to stick the whole lot in about six minutes before the pastor is finished. This lots going in. As you can see, there's quite a lot of vegetables in Just this is just one person. So obviously if you're doubling or tripling or quadrupling up on the pastor, for your whole family, you want to add quite a lot more vegetables and you want to use a bigger pattern.
So this kind of size instead. That's the good thing because it's low fat and low calorie, you want to really fill up on the vegetables and that's the key to really one of the keys to weight loss on this diet is filling up with high fiber, high nutrition vegetable foods and putting right back down on the protein and animal fat. Wow, eliminating the animal protein animal fat, and we're getting all our protein from the lovely vegetables which is a premium source of protein. So that's done, take it off the heat, drain it and add the fight. Tea especially if using a stainless steel pan, otherwise, you're going to add half vegetable color stock use dissolves in a mix of Italian Tom so all nice saying back then off tomato puree go quite heavy on this quite often Tomato Puree in olive, green olives, give it a limit.
And then we want to add some kind of sweetener. Now I would normally use a garbage shirt. I haven't got any at the moment. So you can use coconut sugar. You can use normal sugar, you can use date paste, brown rice syrup, there's lots of options for a healthy sweetener. Obviously, you don't want to be using any sugar free sweeteners up full of chemical rubbish.
But given that I'm out of sweetener today or I have a garbage syrup, I'm just going to use a little bit of granulated sugar so this is the best obviously this isn't healthy as an outline, but we're only using a small amount. So really It's not the end of the world so you mix that in. This is the key with the alkaline diet, you want 70 around 70% of your foods to be alkaline, the other 30% can be acidic. And given that we're not having any animal assets sound a little, you know, teaspoon of white sugar is not the end of the file means if you want to use a coffee or coconut sugar, which is healthy, still got nutrients and low GI use Banstead.
