Let's talk about some strategies for eating out on an alkaline alkaline five diet, because that's one thing that people ask me a lot is if I switch to a plant based diet to a vegan diet, alkaline diet, how can I eat out with friends or no? What can I do you know, is it still possible? Yes, it's still absolutely possible. I do it regularly. And I'm going to give you seven strategies for eating out socially with friends and following an alkaline diet. So number one, very simple, very easy.

You just simply say to your friends, would you mind us going to a vegan restaurants, plant based restaurant, there's an app called Happy cow, which you can find online and it lists pretty much most of the world's vegan vegetarian restaurants. So find your local vegan friendly restaurant and persuade your friends to go there. Simple as strategy number two is, if the restaurant has already been arranged suspects for friend's birthday, they've already picked the venue, you've got no say in the matter, then go online, have a look at the restaurants website, you know, 90% of restaurants these days have a website or an apple. So you should be able to go online and at least see if not the exact menu, the kind of the kind of things that will be served. So if you can check out the menu and pick out some options that you know, see if there's any options that you can have two that are plant based and relatively low fat, that's number two.

If that's not possible, or the restaurant doesn't have anything that you think is is friendly for this diet, then option number three is to go along to the restaurant. And this requires a bit more of a bold approach and you simply would just ask the waiter look, would you mind if then have like spaghetti marinara just hold the mincemeat don't do the mincemeat Can I just have pasta and a low fat tomato sauce. They've been accommodating to me in the past when I asked this when I go to business trips in London and I kind of grabbing lunch in a in a hotel restaurant. Then for example, I've had like a big crusty doorstop sandwich and I think it was like mozzarella and tomato and grilled vegetables. So I just said look, can you skip the mozzarella, take out the main and leave the mayonnaise out.

And I just had the grilled vegetables and then had a little bit of tomato ketchup or mustard. So the fact is that most restaurants will be open to be accommodating to meet your needs. Especially if you say, you know your doctors told you that you need to change your diet or you're on a special diet or whatever. If you're in a situation where you've got some kind of disease or a serious health issue and you're Following this diet because of that, that is quite legitimate to say to them, Look, I'm on a special diet for this heart condition. I can't have X, Y and Zed. I can't have cheese.

Please, can you hold that and 90% of time, the waiters, restaurant owners will be more than happy to accommodate your needs, especially if it's a good restaurant and you're paying, you know, good money to go that. So the next strategy is, so what's their strategy number four, let me consult my list. Strategy number four is go. And it doesn't matter whether the restaurant can accommodate sick you're not go and eat a big salad. So what I would suggest is if you're eating out seven, maybe at home fast, half the bulk of your calories, so you don't want to turn up the restaurant, absolutely starving. But order a big green salad or salad and a plate of vegetables on the side.

Eat that so you know you're not going to be getting many calories. So the focus is not on the food. It's on itself. In the company, so audio solid audio self may be a nice drink, and then focus on the good company that you're in. Because a lot of times, and I know I'm guilty of this, if I'm going out to a really nice restaurant, and I'm really looking forward to the food, I will save up my calories throughout the day and think, yes, I'm going to this restaurant, I'm going to have a big mail and all these nice foods, get there and end up focusing too much on the food and not the people who I'm with. So it's a really good way and you will stand out if you do this.

I've noticed this. If you go along, having already eaten and just more chilled about the whole food aspect. by just having a salad you can really focus on conversation and socializing. So that's really nice. That's a good strategy. The next strategy is to have two starters so most restaurants will have vegan starters so you can have something like a bread roll and some soup or some olives and a plate of vegetables like a side plate of seasonal vegetables or you can have some Some older steamed potatoes or even chips if you want with yes salad or tap pass or I don't know what happened the day vegetable spring rolls.

So okay may not be the lowest fat and it may not be in complete line with with this diet but it's still plant based The key is to avoid meat and dairy when you go to fatty meat and dairy foods, okay? So anything that this plant base is pretty much going to be okay. But where possible, keep the fat to a real minimum, the next strategy so number six is to invite friends ran to yours I do this a lot. Instead of going out for a meal I say hey, you know come into mine. I'll cook and cook them something from the outline five diets so don't have a copy of my book but you know, the book, the outline five day one of the recipes in this course. And you'll be surprised how people love it.

A lot of my friends, when they come around, have some food, they're like, wow, you're a great cook, your food's amazing. I didn't know vegan food could be so delicious. And it is actually a really good evangelism tool for, for showing people just how nice and tasty and unrestricted and alkaline and plant based diet is. And then finally, strategy number seven is and I would say this is really your last resort. But if you want to go out, eat what you want. Yeah, that's a high up, you know, I said it, go and eat whatever you want.

Keep that as your ring fence, no limit eating zone. So whenever you go out for a meal as long as you're not eating out every day of the week, then just allow yourself that little bit of indulgence. So you know what, for that one meal, I'm going to go out and just have, what I want to eat and then the rest of the time, just get back on track with Eating alkaline plant based foods. So then if you know, it doesn't make it an issue, if you I would say use that strategy if you find it burdensome and you really don't want to feel kind of the odd one out or whatever in a restaurant or you haven't got time to have people trained to cook. So I'd say that is like the last resort. But if you want to do that, if that's something that if the thought of not being able to eat out with your friends and eat what they're eating and restricting restaurants is putting you off starting this diet, then Okay, just whenever you go out, eat what you want, and then the rest of the time be on track with the outline five diet.

So I hope that helped that seven strategies there for socializing and eating out eating with friends. I've used all seven strategies over the years. I use all of the notes that number seven, so I always eat out a lot of wealth. I always eat vegan plant based tend to eat low fat and more If you want to know kind of what I do in terms of where I go for restaurants, sushi is always brilliant sushi is always fantastic because I can have vegetable sushi. And if especially if they're making it out I can say look, can I just have avocado and cucumber peppers with the rice. So that's fine sushi is great Japanese food is great.

I go for a vegan roast often. My partner I will go and have Yeah, a vegan Carver if you like so basically all the vegetables and the roast potatoes and the gravy vegetable gravy with just no meat, no meat, no Yorkshire puddings and I fell up on the bed and I always feel absolutely full and satisfied. And I look around at the end of the meal when everyone else is stuffed and bloated and tired and I'm still feeling full but energized so that that's really good. Where else do I go? smoothies and juice bar obviously is a good one for a quick snack during the day. Where else do I go and then Go to just vegan and vegetarian restaurants.

So curry houses, Thai Thai curry places really good Thai restaurant because they often have vegan, vegan, lots of vegan curry dishes. So yeah, that's that's the guide to eating out so you've got no excuse for saying, Oh, I can't do this because I you know, I eat I and it's really gonna restrict me there's seven different options for you that
