So when it comes to diet, there are a number of traits that successful dieters have in common. So you need to be able to adopt these traits in order to have a good chance of success in order to lose weight, but also keep that weight off in the long term. So let's look at those. So, number one successful dieters don't feel like they're on a diet, they don't see it as a guide. As soon as you say the word diet, it, it brings to mind restriction and deprivation and sacrifice. So a good way to switch that and especially with this way of eating, eating, alkaline eating plant based, it's all about abundance.

It's not about what you can eat. It's about what you can eat in abundance. And there's always I've yet to find anything that I used to eat on a kind of more junk foodie, standard American Standard Western diet, they haven't been able to find an equally tasty outcome. For So for example, if I used to have milk now I have almond milk or coconut milk in my porridge and cereal and teas and things. If I liked ice cream, I have banana ice cream. So it's really about abundance and the good thing about a plant based diet is that you can eat more volume.

So that's the first tip to switch from thinking it's a deprivation diet to an abundant diet. The second thing is to again not think of it as a diet but a prominent lifestyle positive lifestyle change so don't see it as this short term thing that right I've just got to get through this for the next three weeks or six weeks loosely to wait then I could come off it No, think about it as a lifestyle change that you want to adopt over the longer term because you know if it's if it's a diet, that is short term you want a quick fix from it's not going to be sustainable. The beauty again of the outline Five diet that we'll be following is that it's totally sustainable over the short, medium and long term. So you need to yet just switch that mindset up a bit. And and again, focus on the abundance rather than, you know, things you can eat.

So the next thing is you need to make it personal. So within this diet program, there'll be certain things that you really like other things that you like less. So make it personal to you find out what works for you in terms of foods in terms of exercise. So when it comes to exercise, you know, I might say to you get into running because I personally love running, but maybe that doesn't work for you, but maybe cycling does or dancing, or polarities. So find something that works for you and do it for that. Again, it's sustainable because you enjoy it.

Same with food, you know, you'll find going through the recipes and the meal plans. Let's start and food sets and food combinations to a meal. Certain types of foods that you really enjoy over another thing. So for example, you might prefer to have a green smoothie over just eating the fruits, other people might prefer to sit down and eat a bowl of fruit and eat vegetables rather than have a green smoothie. So it's about what works for you. The next thing is to resist the temptation of self shame and condemnation.

It's easy to say, Oh, you know, I'm fat, I'm ugly, I'm never going to achieve it. I'm never going to do this, especially if you fall off the wagon. So that but successful people don't do that. They resist that temptation of self pity and self hatred and self blame and all that kind of stuff. Look, you're human. We're all human.

We're all gonna make mistakes. We're not perfect. So you just have to start with With that in mind, and then give yourself some leeway. Be compassionate with yourself. Be caring towards yourself, be kind, and just pick up where you left off? Which brings me on to the next point, which is plan for failure.

Sounds kind of strange, because you'll be planning for success in the long term, but in the short term along the way, you want to plan for failure and obstacles. So what happens after you've been on the diet for a week, you've done really well, you think that Yeah, I could do this for like, forever, and you're just seeing good results, say, and then all of a sudden, you go out with a friend and you eat the wrong thing or eat too much or, you know, whatever it might be, that causes you to stumble. Successful dieters, rather than going into this downward spiral of self condemnation, saying, Oh, I knew I can do it. And I can't even stick to a diet for more than a week and all this kind of stuff. And then the temptation, right is to go well, I've failed once. I may as well keep going.

So I've had like a bar of chocolate. Well, I might as well have two or three and some crisps and whatever else a bottle of wine, no, get to the point where You've made that mistake or you've you've made that you've stumbled on whatever it is just go Okay, so that's human, and then move on, just carry on where you left off on the positive track. Okay? So you're going on a path, if you get veered off, instead of going a bit off a little bit, I'll, I'll go off straight over there, go, okay, I've gone off and then recourse, come back onto the path and move straight forward towards your goals. So that's the next thing. Resist the temptation to express your bigness and your greatness to getting big physically.

So some people don't don't quite know or haven't got the confidence to express themselves their greatness because we've all got greatness inside of us. Some people really struggle with that and a way that they often subconsciously express their bigness and their greatness in the world is by being big. You know, it's often said that big people are more bubbly and But smaller people can also be bubbly and, and kind of have this effervescent, a large personality. So it's just something to think about for the moment. Maybe you're expressing your greatness through eating too much. So it's the first step to overcoming that it's just to recognize that so you know, just have a little think about that and if that's you, maybe brainstorm some other ways that you can express your you know, your power as a you know, as a as a confident person.

So, just brainstorm some ways and like I say, once you're aware of it, it's going to be easier to nip that in the bud. Okay. And the final thing is successful dieters get coaching so I already want to say a big well done to you because you've invested in this course, and you've got coaching, you know, coaching via get this course from me. Because on your own, you're liable to hit your what's called upper limit syndrome.

So you have a certain level of success. And then you reach this peak where you're kind of your body, your subconscious mind is like a thermostat and you trick that thermostat, which says, oh, you're going too far out of your comfort zone. So something will happen to bring you back down. So you might lose like four or five pounds, and your body goes Hold on, this is not what we're used to, and bring you back down and start eating more of the best way to have come there and move past those barriers on to the next level. So you're in your comfort zone, five pounds lighter, moving towards 10 pounds lighter. The best way to do that is to get coaching.
