In this lecture, we will introduce access to our course. We selected this software since it is the most widely used and recognized database engine for desktops, used mainly for small and medium sized businesses. If you do not have a copy nor intend to buy Microsoft Access, or MIT this lecture, the game is that by completing all the lectures on access, you will have hands on experiences with a DBMS. The main reason for the popularity of Microsoft Access is that it allows beginners to start right away, creating their own database in a format that serves their businesses best. The software offers a lot more than just a database. It is used to create applications that run businesses more efficiently.
In addition, it allows cloud storage for better security and easy sharing. Let us start the first session with Microsoft Access with a brief overview of its features and content. Our primary use is with the DDL and the DML. The DDL is an acronym for data Definition Language, which allows us to input data or information into a database. The DML on the other hand, is an acronym for data manipulation language, which allows us to extract information or data from a database such as Microsoft Access.
