Emotions are often connected to fears and pressures, real or otherwise in the anticipation of what may happen. When we consciously pay attention to our emotions we can feel where they manifest within the body. Research tells us that our body learns more through emotions than thought and becoming cognizant of how our bodies react to the emotion is helpful in healing our bodies.
A mindfulness meditation study conducted at Harvard University in 2011 by Sara Lazar involved 16 participants who meditated 30 minutes per day over an eight-week period. The students listened to guided meditations without judgment, or feelings, and is not attached to the process. In other words, allowing things to just happen organically.
