The objective is to create a balanced, controlled, and rhythmical breath. As mentioned previously there are many obstacles that occur during your practice. Breathe although a normal sympathetic reaction can be the cause of one of those obstacles. When the breath is slow or fast, short or long, unbalanced or rhythmic, it can control how we approach our practice. With practice and the right tools, balance can be achieved in a very short time.
In the previous lesson, I mentioned that I helped facilitate my own healing through the use of breathing techniques. The more I practiced the slow controlled breath the more successful I became at reducing my pain. At first, when I felt intense pain in my abdominal area my breath became very fast and shallow.
