In this video, I'm going to show you how to share your lead magnet. Once you've created your lead magnet, likely it'll either be PDF or MP, three if it's an audio, mp4, if it's a video, and the tools that I recommend to share these assets, either Google Drive or Amazon s3. And the reason for that is we can create a public URL that is an address that you can share with people where they're able to access the files that you've created. The Goodies, the opt in the freebies. Okay, so I'm going to show you how to do it with Google Drive. If you've not got a Google Drive account, you can set sign up for one for free, you get a limited amount of storage without any cost.
So a real quick, easy option. I have a paid account with Google but the process is exactly the same. So Drive to create a folder where you're going to keep your lead magnets. And then once you've got your PDF, you just upload it into the folder. I'm going to do that now. You file upload, and I'm going to, I'm just uploading this lead magnet creation guide PDF as as an example to show you the process.
Once it's uploaded, it'll appear in the folder that you've just created. So where are we lead magnet creation guide okay. And now, what we need to do now is we need to make this publicly viewable on the internet. And so when it's selected by single clicking, if we click the share icon here we just need to change some of the settings for it to be viewable by others. Okay, so I click the Advanced button here. And now we've got a big long URL, but at the moment, it's set to private so only I can see this file If I was to click that URL, if I was to give that URL to you, and you not logged into my gmail account, then you wouldn't be able to see the file.
Okay? So we need to change that. So that everybody publicly has access without being able to having to without having to log in. So if we click Change here, and then we're able to choose this option, which is on anyone with the link, so anyone with the link can see the file can access it. And then this little drop down is where you decide what level of access they have. So typically, you would want to set this to can view because if it was a template or something like that, we wouldn't want somebody to be able to edit it and make changes because it then affects the file for everybody.
So make sure that you select can view and then once you've selected these two options, click Save. And now our URL is ready to use. So this URL l is the one that we copy. And we'll use in our email sequences that deliver the lead magnet will use this link as the hyperlink inside of that email. So, save this URL somewhere. And then we'll use that when we're sending the lead magnet inside of an email.
Awesome. So I'm just going to jump across to a different web browser. To show you what it looks like when somebody uses that URL, to access the download, they just get the option then to view the PDF to download it, print it, do whatever they need to do. Okay. Simple
