Hi, it's Karen again from the photography playground. Welcome back to the second lecture about pro camera. In this one, you're going to discover your camera menu. We'll start by deactivating your flash. In another module you learn how to deal with limited light situations without using your flesh. The little cross icon indicates the flashes turned off.

This icon indicates your exposure compensation. Here you find the histogram. The histogram is a graphical representation of light values. On the left are the darker values, the shadows, and on the right are the brighter values the highlight in the middle semitones the histogram can help you to find the best exposure setting. This is the selfie camera. If at all possible, try not to use it.

The quality of the selfie camera is a lot less than the quality of the normal camera. Get creative in making selfies and legends play a role by turning the camera around The arrow icon opens up the basic menu of the video camera and some in app purchases. You'll have it on photo most of the time. And here you'll find yourself timer. also a great way to make a selfie. Now open up the menu.

If an icon is green, it indicates it's active and if it's white, it's inactive. If you want to make a few images in a row turn rapid fire on make f e lock active, it allows you to lock your focus. And if you have an active exposure circle, you can lock them independent of each other. Move on to grids. The grid helps you with your composition, activate the three by three grid because of the rule of thirds. The tilt meter helps you to keep your camera leveled.

In general keep it inactive because it clutters your frame. It's convenient when you photograph using a tripod because it helps you to establish a perfect level position. Here we have two different exposure modes. Automatic mode Manual mode, ISO and shutter speed priority mode, make white balance active, it puts it like on in your screen to access the white balance settings should you need to do that. The default settings automatic white balance. Here you can choose between different display styles of the histogram.

The aspect ratio is the proportion of the image, you have to keep in mind that the size of the sensor stays the same in any aspect ratio you choose. What the aspect ratio does is making different proportions on the sensor. For instance, if you choose to square aspect ratio, the left and right side of your sensor will not be used. I think that's a waste of perfectly good pixels. It's better to adjust the proportions of an image afterwards in the post processing phase. Set it on the aspect ratio that uses all the pixels on your sensor which is four by three.

This is the shortcut to the different file formats. Just leave it at roll in the settings you activate it and shakin civilization. In here, you can deactivate it if you want, it's a personal preference. But if you activate the self timer anti shake will automatically be deactivated. And the last menu item is the display mode of your camera to standard because it will give you the most information. Clicking on the menu icon again will close the menu.

Yay, you're all set to make some amazing photos. See you in the next lecture. And in the meantime, happy photographing
