Hi, it's Karen from the photography playground. Welcome back. This lecture is about how to set up your camera. Start by clicking on the menu icon. Then choose settings and this screen will pop up another support icon you'll have access to user manual, send some videos. Back to settings and click on stabilization.
It's not something you'll use very often because it slows down the focusing process, but have it activated in here and in the menu you can toggle between on and off, put the slider somewhere in the middle. Next, go to the self timer and set it up as you wish. Click on File Format. You can choose between JPEG, Tiff and raw check the raw file format. You can also choose to create a raw any JPEG file of the same image. The next up is to full screen trigger, don't activate that one because I don't think you'll have trouble finding the regular shutter definitely turn autosave on.
You don't want to check every time you make a photo if you want to keep it or not. We'll skip the HDR settings because we won't be covering HDR in this course. I think it's not a very helpful feature. low light places in in app purchase. It reduces the noise in low light situations. I bought it but I never use it.
It comes out of this very unnatural turn use light books off. If you have it turned on it will only save your photos in the pro camera app. And you have to export them to your camera roll every time which is not very convenient. If it's turned off, it will automatically save to the camera rolling your phone. Next go to focus and exposure. Depending on your exposure mode, you have it turned off or on when you shoot inside.
Semi automatic and manual mode you will turn it off because it interferes with the manual settings. Also turn off manual focus. When you shoot in automatic mode you turn the exposure circle on. checking this one allows you to make a photo using the volume button so if your phone I have it turned off, but choose whatever you prefer to do tagging on if you want to save the geographical location of your images in the metadata of your file. Today widget never use it. It's something that helps you to determine the golden hour and such if you want to use it Be my guest.
Now open a file settings and click on photo zoom. This is a biggie, turn it off. Yes, I want you to turn it off. Zooming in with a smartphone camera results in pixelated images and we don't want that you will learn to use another zoom function to make sure you don't accidentally hit the zoom in button you have to turn it off. Go to dead stun and turn it off. No need for those ugly dates in our images, the date and time of when the image was shot is saved in the metadata of the file.
I think system sounds is rather useful, especially when you use the self timer. If you want to make photos without the sound of the shutter, you can always turn off the sound of your phone. And the last thing you need to do is to put in your copyright information. That's it for today's lecture. See you in the next lecture. And in the meantime, happy photographing
