Hello, Karen here from the photography playground. Welcome to the vseo module. I can't wait to get you started on this one. In this lecture, I'm going to show you where to find what envious yo and tell you what it does. The difference between VSCO and a lot of other editing apps is that apart from being an editing app, it's a community. When you create an account, you're able to share your awesome pictures with the other members of the vseo community.

They have a free and paid membership plan vseo also offers in app camera. I don't ever advise anyone to use cameras within editing or sharing apps. And especially since you just spend your precious time learning to photograph was a non native camera. This one is a no brainer. Let's have a look at the other icons at the bottom of your screen. All the way on the left we find your feet.

The photographer's you follow will show up in here. Next to your feed you find the Discover tab. Here you can dive in the rabbit hole of discovering inspiring photography. The icon in the middle opens up the studio. The place where your pictures live well at least the ones you imported into vseo. Behind a friendly little smiley icon are the pictures you shared with the community.

So here we are in the studio. When you click on the plus icon on the top of your screen, your camera will opens up and you can select the photos you want to add it in vseo. When you select the studio on top, you can filter your pictures by edited and unedited by published and unpublished and by file format. You can also change the grid view of the studio here. When you click on a photo, a golden border appears indicating you selected the photo. Once you select the photo, the menu at the bottom changes showing you the editing options.

Clicking the cross icon will be selected photo, this slider icon opens up to you just mentals. Next to the slider icon we find the Publish icon to share your pics wisdom community. And the three little dots indicate the more options button. It opens up a new menu where you can share your pictures, save them to the camera roll, or if the photo makes you totally not happy, you can delete it. Okay, this is what happens when you click the slider icon. The preset section is the first thing that opens up.

With the free plan you have quite a few presets to choose from. And if you become a paid member, you'll have a lot more options. When you click the square icon at the left side of your screen, you can choose between grid views. Now let's select the slider icon to open up the adjustment tools. I'll walk through this quickly because you probably already know most of them. First tool is exposure with the exposure tool you can make The image brighter or darker.

Using the contrast tool will increase or decrease the contrast between the dark and bright areas. The adjust tool lets you crop straighten and rotate the image. It also allows you to make adjustments to the perspective lines. As you'll see in one of the next lectures. sharpen is a step we always have to take to increase the sharpness of the image. Clarity enhances the details and is a great way to make the image pop as you'll discover in the last lecture of this module.

The saturation tool adjusts the vibrancy of the colors. With the tone tool you can adjust the shadows and the highlights separately a very important tool as you'll find out in the next lecture. White Balance adjusts the color tone of the image and skin tone adjusts the skin tone color separately from the other colors. A vignette makes the edges of the image darker. The grind tool as a grainy vintage look to the image Fade washes out the colors also for a vintage look and split on at different colors to the shadows and the highlights. Then finally, we have to pay tools.

With borders you can add a border around the image, and HSL controls use saturation and the lightness of the colors separately. That's it. Let's move on to the next lecture quickly to start the editing fun
