Exercise 23: The Attacker Shields the Ball at the Sideline

Theme: 1v1 defensively - Trickery
Category: Major-skills, technique, and minor-skills training
Objectives

Use the reverse defending position (back to the side-line).
Lower your centre of gravity (as far down as possible) and get eye contact with the ball.
Improve working conditions through choosing an effective technique with good LFT-quality.

Organisation

4-6 players work together (2 work the other rests)
4 small goals
The pitch is a 15-20m x 10-15 m 


Procedure:
Task

The ball is at rest just off the side-lines (start the game). The attacker stands still and shields the ball while the defender pressing from behind. 
The attacker tries after a signal from the coach to control the ball, dribble the defender, and score a goal (2 five-a-side goals).  
The defender tries to win the duel and score a goal
