4. Reverse Defending Position

The reverse defending position is a unique pressing technique that is useful in some situations. It involves winning the ball by inviting the attacker to play a “nutmeg” (playing the ball through your legs). To execute this position, you surprise the attacker by turning your back. This will often result in the player attempting to play a nutmeg. When this occurs, you are then ideally positioned to win the duel because you have a shorter distance to the ball, and not at least, your body is turned in the defence (the right) direction.
Strengths:

It gives you reasonable control of the defending direction (in front of you).
You can win duels cunningly by tricking the attacking player.
Winning 1v1 duels in this way gives you a mental advantage.
