DESCRIPTION:
The second phase of a successful job interview is to establish rapport with the interviewer and to somehow generate some interest. This second phase of the interview is often very short as well but certainly important. Think about a book you might pick up in the bookstore. The first thing you will look at is the cover of the book. That is the introduction of the interview. The second thing you are likely to do in the book is to either read the testimonials or thumb through the table of contents. That is the establish rapport and generate interest part of the interview. Skimming through the chapters is the body of the interview, which we will discuss shortly. However, if you don’t like what you see in the table of contents, or if nothing grabs your attention likely you won’t buy the book. The same is true with the interview. It is important as quickly as possible to establish a positive rapport and generate some interest as quickly as possible in the interview....
