Likely, during the interview you took several notes. However, it is impossible during the heat of the interview to capture every thought or item that is important. As soon as you can after the interview, find a local coffee shop and bring in your note pad from the interview. Review your notes. Write down anything important you might have missed. If possible, write down items such as decision-making criteria, key challenges and takeaways you learned from the interview. If you interviewed with multiple people, make sure you capture what was important for each person. Ideally, you want to capture at least a few important thoughts from each person that interviewed you. The reason for this is, when you write them a thank-you note, you will want to refer to some of those key items in the note.
