Let’s focus our attention on the first principle, I know myself. This principle refers to the importance of self-awareness and continuous self-discovery. Top performers are open to continuous feedback on how they are interacting in the world around them and how they are responding. They are continuous learners and can process what is working and what is not. They know their strengths and abilities, and what motivates, challenges, and engages them. You as an individual are growing and changing throughout your life. Life is a journey, not a destination; therefore, the principle applies throughout your life. You never stop knowing and learning about yourself.
Effective leaders understand the importance of this first principle, I know myself and set this as an ‘expectation’ for themselves and their team members. The leader would indicate that the team members are responsible for their own development and growth in their careers....
