About the Class
Scholarly Academic writing is a form of informational, or expository writing. Unlike writing for general audiences with fiction, poetry, or stories, expository writing follows structures that help relay information in an orderly sequence. The critical part of that structure is that paragraphs and sections begin with a topic sentence. Not having a logical presentation with topic sentences is a top reason articles submitted to journals get rejected. In this lesson, how to write a topic sentence is presented with plenty of examples.
