Hey there, Writer
I want to talk to you about one of my favorite pastimes: curiosity.
As a kid, I would search for garter snakes that lived in the old rock wall by my house. If I couldn&rsquo;t find the snakes, then I wandered down to the pond to watch beavers building their dams. On rainy days, I often sat on my windowsill to watch birds nest in the sugar maple tree.
Wildlife has always been a source of fascination and curiosity for me. I would take notes in my journal about their habits, the way they moved, and their various activities, and then use that information to help me develop characters for my animal stories.
How I Began as a Writer:
Curiosity fueled my imagination.
I asked questions.
Recorded my discoveries and wonders in journals.
Turned fact into the story.
Wrote, wrote, wrote.
Trust me, writers want the sparks to fly. Pay attention to what arouses your curiosity, explore the possibilities, wonder, and ask questions.
