I have learned that the BEST way to get my creative energy high and inflow is to connect my real-world self to my writer self (muse, creative center)--whatever you call that place inside you that loves to tell a good ol' story.
This means that your real-world self needs to be the eyes and ears of your muse. If you’re someone who has fallen into a rote schedule, where everything is predictable and expected, then you aren’t providing anything new or Inspirational for your creative self to absorb.
One of the easiest ways to bring in new information for your writer self to mull over is to change up your routine:

Start a new television series
Go to a store that you’ve never been in before
Eat a brand-new food
Try a new hobby
Read a new author or genre
Redecorate a room in your house
Alter your walking route

Whatever you change, make sure you are paying attention to the new sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures you encounter. Journal about...
