Transcript

Welcome back to blogging masterclass. In this video, we're going to talk about using analytics to track your blog's progress. So one of the easiest analytic systems to use is Google Analytics. Google Analytics is very simple. It's also very free. Okay, you need to measure the effectiveness of your traffic driving efforts.

So you know what needs improvement, you know, what's working, you know, what's not working, you know, with the scrap. So just go to google.com slash analytics. And the first thing you're going to do is just add a profile for a new domain. So every time you get your Analytics code in Google, you're going to do it per each domain. Okay? When you do this profile, they're going to give you a web property ID.

So you're simply just going to hover over that and copy it. The next thing you'll do is go back to your blog and install the Google Analytics plugins. Okay, now I use the all in one SEO plugin. I like this plugin. It handles a lot of the SEO for me automatically so I don't have to do a lot of coding just automatically does it For me, it's a great plugin, it's free. You find it in plugins, just type in all in one, SEO, and install that plug in.

Once you have the plug in installed and activated, you'll go to Settings, then you'll click on all in one, SEO. And then all you have to do is scroll down to Google Analytics ID. That's one of the fields in the settings, and then just paste that web property ID that you received from Google Analytics, then you just click Update options, very easy. Then you just finally go back to Google Analytics and click Save. So now from here on out, you'll be able to log into your Google Analytics page. You have to give it a few days to update and start getting traffic and start, you know, compiling your data that after that, Google is going to give you all kinds of great data about how many people saw your site per day, and they're gonna give you good graphs and charts.

So really cool. Highly recommend that you put this on your blog. A lot of people skip this step and they really They don't know what's going on in their business. Okay? The numbers are very important to watch. You want to make sure that you're testing, you're trying out different headlines.

You're trying out different things. You're adding posts, you're seeing, you know, how relevant are the links that I'm giving people? Are they clicking on these links? If they are clicking on these links, are they buying on these links? Okay, so you want to have a separate Google Analytics set up for your buy page as well. Okay, so make sure you use Google Analytics.

It's at google.com forward slash analytics, and get that set up on your site real quick four step process and we'll see you in the next video.
