Hello guys, welcome to the third session of using Microsoft Bot Framework Louis and cognitive services tutorials for beginners. In this session we will see what is Microsoft Bot Framework, its features and its various components. In 2016, Microsoft introduced the Microsoft Bot Framework. The boyfriend work enables you to build boats that support different types of interactions with users. Microsoft Bot Framework is the SDK allowing you as a developer to create conversational chat bots with ease. You can create your own boats with SDK available in C sharp node.js and using rest requests.
Every boat has some common functionalities such as each boat require basic IU, they must have language and dialogue skills and they must connect to users, preferably in any conversation, experience and language the user chooses The board framework is responsible for that. The board framework provides various powerful tools and features to create a board, make it understandable to human and publish it on various channels. First is a job board service, which accelerates the process of developing a boat. It provides some predefined boat templates. Now it supports five templates you can choose from when you create a boat. You can further modify your boat directly in the browser using the Azure editor, or visual studio or Visual Studio code.
Next is more builder. It is one of the most important component of both framework. It provides a rich and full featured SDK for the dotnet and node.js platforms. It also includes an emulator for debugging your boards, as well as a large set of sample boards you can use as a building blocks. It has ability to interact with Louis which we will do In later sessions, next is more connected service. The board connector service enables your board to exchange messages with channels that are configured in the board framework portal.
By using industry standard rest and JSON over HTTP s. In the lastest board framework portal, it gives you one convenient place to register connect and manage your boat. It also provides diagnostic tools and a web chat control you can use to embed your board in a web page. Recently, Microsoft announced that they will discontinue both framework portal and we need to migrate our existing board to Azure bot service. In this series, we will use it those are core concepts that used in both framework firsties channels. The board framework supports several popular channels for connecting your book. You can configure your board for various channels including email, Skype, Facebook Messenger Slack, telegram and SMS next is activity, the board connector uses and activity to exchange information between both and channel.
There are various types of activity such as message conversation, update, typing, ping, delete, user data etc. Next is dialogue, which helps to organize the logic in your boat and manage conversation flow. dialogues are arranged in a stack and the top dialogue in this deck processes all incoming messages until it closed or a different dialogue is invoked. Next is reach card it comprises a title, description, link and images. A message can contain multiple reach cards displayed in either list format or carousel format. By using boatbuilder SDK we will create both web service which will interact with other services API's database Machine Learning or even cognitive services such as natural language translation, search, comp, vision, etc. The board builder SDK will interact with both connector service, which is responsible for input output as well as state management of both. Both connected services also interact with cognitive services because of Louise, it is also part of cognitive services. And both connected will interact with various channels including web chat, email, Facebook Messenger, group me, Kate, Slack, telegram, etc, from each user will send message.
