The Gayatri Mantra
The Gayatri mantra to Savitri, one of the important forms of the Sun God, is the most important of all Vedic mantras and one of the most commonly used mantras in Hinduism and Yoga practices. The Gayatri mantra is an important tool for drawing in the spiritual energy of the Sun into our minds, hearts, and bodies, serving as a source of solar light for the inner worlds.
Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ Tat-savitur Vare&ntilde;yaṃ Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
Translation: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Divine, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.
