Hello, everyone, thank you for coming back to the course. This session, we are mainly going to talk about the data types in Python. So first we are going to bring up the Python IDs, which is the integrated development and learning environment. In this interactive shell, what you are going to type in in Python will be evaluated immediately, and then the result will be returned. Just know what you see in the screen. Now you type in 10 plus 10.
Python gives you 20. Another back Python know that what you are typing in to 10 is an integer so it calculates the value for you. However, if you put quotes around your expression, it will be available as a string. So Python will just print out a string of 10 plus 10. Instead of calculation result. Now if you type in an integer 10 plus a string of 10 you will have an hour you got a tough hour saying that integer cannot be added to a string.
That's why data type is very important in programming. We have to pay attention to that. Okay, in our next course we are going to talk about variables in Python.
