In this video, let's talk about wisdom. Wisdom is fascinating because on the one hand, it's very hard to define. But on the other hand, once we start to define it and go through the aspects of his definition, you will see that it encompasses a whole lot of types of intelligences under it. So it's very useful for us. And a lot of the aspects of wisdom, repeat and come in come into play through throughout this course. First of all, it's important to think, to consider that this word implies a wholeness to intelligence.

Once you're wise, you're wise. But none of us are super wise and everything. We're good at some things. People who are deemed wise are good men, smarter, many things, but no one is really brilliant at everything. So all of us have some gaps, and always we can improve so it actually isn't. The word implies a certain wholeness of intelligence, but there really isn't such a thing.

Thing. And then we can go back to the old Socrates story from 2500 years ago where Socrates wanted to find out, Hey, who's the smartest person in, in all the land, and he went to all the people, all the people that others that are smart. And all those people said, you know, they, they thought they were smart. They thought they knew a lot. They thought they knew everything. And Socrates realized that all of them lacked the very simple understanding that they don't know that they don't know everything.

And so they weren't wise. And Socrates understood that he actually, even though, you know, people said his wise, he realized himself that actually he realized this, the world is so big, and that he didn't understand everything. There's no way he could know everything or understand everything. And he realized that he wasn't wise. And he was smarter than everybody else in that element. He just He had the better understanding that there was more to learn more to know there's so much unknown.

And all the other people who were deemed wise were just pompous and egoist, you know, ego driven to think that they're smart, but really, that made them less smart. He realized that at least, there's so much to learn. Nobody can know everything. But we should strive forward. So wisdom certainly implies the accumulation of knowledge, okay? And it's knowledge, experiences, and then the conclusions, the learnings from those conclusions, and then the ability to apply all these in life.

And of course, accumulation of knowledge. It's the same thing you have to experience and do different things. And also, you have to learn books, courses, anything else. Surround yourself with really intelligence, my people, so that you can always learn and grow. No one's ever going to What do we learn? What how do we start being wise and if of course starts with learn knowing yourself, it's with self awareness.

People who are wise, they must be self aware, just by definition, right? Because if you're not self aware, if you don't know what's going on inside your heart, your mind, you're not going to be able to leave your life the way you should. So you have to explore who you are. What's important in life, in general, and in your life specifically, is going to enable you to make smart decisions. And wisdom is kind of like being smarter with life, right? You can look at it that way.

And also, there's another perspective, way to look at wisdom is that you can have the ability to look at things from many perspectives. And we'll talk about that in a second. But more on self awareness should understand your emotions should acknowledge your emotions should know where they come from, and you should control it to be able to then control trol your emotions once you have a deep understanding of them, instead of your control your emotions controlling you, if your emotions control you, that's a sign of immaturity. As you learn to get ahold of your emotions and control them, that's a sign of maturity and a sign of wisdom. Also self acceptance, that's a sign of deeper self awareness, the kind of relationship that you have with yourself that even if you fail at something, even, even when something doesn't go wrong, you can become your own best friend and internally have a laugh at almost everything.

Think back to even the bad times and with yourself, be able to look at it fondly because you are your own selfs best friend, that level of self acceptance, accepting your own folly as a human, that not everything will always go wrong, right. And just having that calm This internal calmness. And part of that is the management of your mood and your contentment. So that's in your control. And of course, you should always look for self improvement. as a as a person, look for what to learn, where to learn.

Maybe look, you know, also, sometimes you might be good at handling some emotions, but not others. And so there's always room to grow. Part of being self aware is understanding that there's against so many things we don't know and we cannot even if we're successful, we cannot stop and settle. We have to keep on improving, improving, improving ourselves and we have to be very good at knowing what we're not good at, which is really hard and improve on all the things that we couldn't we were not good at at the moment and we could be better in a part of getting there is being objective, and objectivity will give you a clear vision onto everything. And so when you're at the whim of your emotions, you you, it makes you very subjective. When you have a hold of your emotions, and when you can be calm when presented with challenging ideas or thoughts or decisions, you are going to attain a certain level of objectivity.

A clearer way to look at things both from left and right, from multiple perspectives. So instead of thinking in binary terms, so left hand left and right and wrong, politically left and right. Instead of that, you will start to think more. Everything is every situation is nuanced. Every side has a point. In fact, there's too many too many things multiple things are true, right?

So multiple things, even sometimes contradicting things can be true as At the same time, and that's something to realize and acknowledge and acknowledge that, then your thinking becomes much more nuanced. And what really helps you is, instead of looking for a certain outcome, for example, you want to be right about a certain point. Maybe your ego wants it or whatever maybe your political view, maybe you're politically minded and you want your side whether your left or whether your right it doesn't matter whether you want if you want your side to win, then you're looking for a certain specific outcome. But if you start looking for the truth, rather than a specific outcome, like oh, my political party wins, no matter what that party is, then if you look for the truth, it will help you find the nuances in the situation and be more objective about thinking about everything and then you'll be able to make smarter decisions of how to interpret things and how to lead your life and that will of course, Give you foresight and ability to more clearly think ahead because what you really want to do is get rid of bias, bias will make you blind to half of the things and you will be more you will be easily manipulated by things that sound good that already fit your worldview.

But if you get rid of most of the biases in your worldview, most of the assumptions to you won't be as money as easily manipulated, which is a clear sign of wisdom, and you'll be able to make smarter, better decisions. And that once you master this quest for you know, self awareness, then there's also clarity of thinking and objectivity and the seeking of truth. Then there's of course, empathy and groundedness. Okay, empathy is the ability to understand other people with other people, not you, but what other people think, what they feel and then being able to use that To improve situations. So you have to understand once after you understand yourself, you have to begin to understand others. And you also once you start to understand yourself the world, seeing things objectively, you will stop being surprised by too many things you won't you will not overreact to things when they happen.

And that's also of course, a sign of wisdom. Now, lastly, this being sharp and quick thinking is not a part of wisdoms as fairly as people see it, but it certainly will help you think on your feet and be smarter. So the you have to also work on developing your reasoning skills, and maintaining your overall health and brain health. So that you can be sharper and quicker on your feet every day to your maximum potential. So those are all the things that kind of go into overall what is wisdom how to become more wise, you see, it has so many aspects to it and tentacles that we have to have this really long and encompassing definition to get it very right. And you'll see that so many of these things are going to repeat it throughout the course.

And in the course we are going to tackle each one of them more deeply.
