Now I'm going to show you how to create the Gerber or artwork files and send them to a fabrication house. So go to export and choose the Gerber option here. Now top and bottom already selected, that will be the top copper layer and the bottom copper layer for your PCB. Let's click on top. Set the undefined line width to 10 mils. Okay, care and then set the bottom to 10 males with a undefined language as well.

Why are we doing that? It's because the PCB editor like software automatically sets zero to the undefined language. And zero line widths are really weird and they don't take well in Gerber organization or creation. So just keep that in mind. Select the apertures button. Choose edit auto without rotation.

And notice a 20 new operators are created here, click OK. Click OK on this window and choose Select all. Then hit the Create artwork button. Now you'll usually get warnings whenever you create your artworks, but just make sure you check through this file. And then it shows in a summary at the top was actually created and the bottom was created. If it was with warnings that's that happens pretty often. So close this window and click OK. Go to File and then save one more time.

Click Yes. Now I'm going to show you how to submit these files to a board house. But there's one more thing you need and that's a drill file so go to export, NC dro NC parameters checkmark This leading zeros suppression option and this other option here with that and has excellent formatting, click Close that to scale factor to one, select these two options and uncheck repeat codes. Then click drill. Close you will know the drill was just created. And we're going to double check to make sure that the art files and the drop out was actually created.

Close this window. Save one more time. Yes. Go to the folder where you created your project. For me, it's in documents led Allegro. For the type of file I'm looking for my art files says bottom art top that art those got generated, that's good.

And the profile was also generated really good. All right, so click on the bottom art, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard here. Click Select the top Dart file and also the dot DRL file, you want to right click. And I have seven zip installed, so I can send it to that compressed folder. But if you don't have seven zip, you can just go to send to and choose compressed zip folder that's installed by default on Windows. I have to name this file, I'll name it led art.

Hit enter. And I'm going to upload this file to a website that allows me to fabricate PCBs through that. So I'm going to open up a web browser here. Go to Google Chrome. Okay. I'm just going to type in a website like for pcb.com Enter on the keyboard.

Now under their products and services, you can choose the free DFM tool. And this is really neat. It It shows you if you have any problems or potential issues with your PCB when you submit your PCB design to them. So click Upload Files. I'm going to set my email here, just type in that information. Select Choose File, go back to your project folder in the Allegro folder here.

And this is where I saved my led art dot zip file. So select it, choose Open, upload zip file. Now you have a lot of options to choose from this next window, but you have to set everything correctly. So I'll show you that and the bottom Dart file here. I'm going to set this file content option to bottom copper. The top that is my top copper layer.

So I'm going to set that to top copper. Now it's automatically detected my trophy Probably because of the extension here, because it's chosen NC drill and that's correct. Right. Now let's go to company name here. Let's call it imaginary company. Phone Number 777-777-7777.

It's not a real number. I don't know whose number that is, but it's something for the port number. I will name it led PCB revision one, except the layer count to two. Why two because the top layer on the bottom layer count has two copper layers. So the copper layers that we are counting here for the x dimension, set it to one that's an inches. Now, that's the same as 1000 mils, okay.

So if you remember when we set up the PCB environment and PCB editor light, we chose 1000 mils for the width and the height. So it's one Okay, so one inch. Most of the options here are pretty good, but there is no solder mask. So I'm gonna choose none. There's no silkscreen, so go with none there too. And the color and whatnots irrelevant because the solder mask silkscreen aren't there.

Next, we want to go with a ita our options set to No. And that's pretty much everything for this submission. So click Submit and you'll get this window. Once your PCB artwork files have been submitted. Next thing you want to do is wait patiently for your results to show up via email. Now that can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes.

So I would recommend maybe getting a cup of tea or coffee or going on or doing something else when you check your email in about 30 minutes. So, then you'll get to see your results and I'll show you that
