Unleashing your multiple intelligences. I find this section to be very interesting and important. We all know that we're all unique. There's no one else like us on the planet. We have strengths and we have weaknesses. However, we also have multiple intelligences.
Some are stronger than others. The purpose of this section is to provide an introduction to the different types of multiple intelligences and also to encourage you for further study. Common IQ tests are just way too narrow. They don't predict either success or happiness. That's why the intelligence test have a problem. much work has been done on multiple intelligences and what they found is there are at least seven different kinds.
Daniel Goleman wrote a book called emotional intelligence. And he explains in that book is it's crucial in determining personal and professional success relating to others relating to oneself and so forth. Logical mathematical intelligence, excellent at math, pattern recognition, applying extreme logic and so forth. Albert Einstein fits this very well. linguistic intelligence. This is something that is test for an IQ test.
It's understanding languages word speech, and so forth. Music intelligence, this is an inner feeling a sense for music, something like what Ludwig von Beethoven had body kinesthetic intelligence. This is I hand and body coordination. A lot. People like dancers and athletes and so forth have this type of skill. It's also very much related to the next intelligence which is spatial intelligence.
That's the ability to see things spatially. Again, athletes, dancers and so forth, have this type of skill. Interpersonal intelligence, this is basically relating to others effectively. It is a very powerful skill. Interpersonal intelligence. Be nice and a lot more people had this.
It's being introspective, accessing your own feelings and emotions. And this a lot of times helps create a wonderful, very rich life. Interpersonal intelligence frequently has confidence spiced with humility. So why don't people pursue their multiple intelligences. A lot of time not knowing what they are teachers, parents and so forth, focus on linguistics, mathematics, sciences and so forth. And the path a lot of times in some of the multiple intelligences isn't quite as clear as it is with math, science and so forth.
And a lot of times, other careers pay more. If this is of interest to you, I recommend both of these books here Daniel Goldman's emotional intelligence, and Thomas Armstrong's book, the seven kinds of smart they're both excellent books. Thanks for watching.
