Frontal Lobe pg 124
The anterior portion of the cerebrum, the frontal lobe, is positioned behind the frontal bone and contains the prefrontal cortex (governing personality, intellect, and cognition), the premotor cortex (directing learned motor skills), and the precentral gyrus (managing motor control of muscles).  This lobe is responsible primarily for the control of the voluntary skeletal muscles and is active during probe-solving modes and activities that involve concentration and planning.  A region known as the Broxa area is found in the dominant hemisphere and controls the muscle movements involved in speech.
