So, if you've experienced anxiety and depression, or any other trauma in your life, it's very important to heal these traumatic events from the past. And there's a very important exercise that I'm going to show you today, which is the base foundation exercise for a lot of other exercises that's in this course. It's called the timeline healing journal. And what does that mean? I like to draw a chart. Yeah.
Where you draw on a piece of paper from birth to present time. On one side, you write physical events and the other side right emotional events. And what you do is you list all the emotional events you've had from birth to present that affected you even though you don't even if you think that you're over them, and they don't affect you anymore. Write them down please. In timeline fashion. Yeah.
And in the same way, write down all the physical events. It could be a minor accident, it could be an X ray could be hospitalization, and be abandonment from your parents or some time alone. There's a crossover between physical and emotional sometimes. And what I'd like you to do while you're writing these events, for some people that works by So basically, I want you to write about this event for five minutes straight, without taking your pen off the paper, just continuously writing whatever comes to your mind, even if the topic changes in your mind. And you're still writing about cabbages and carrots and things like that. continue writing because there's an emotional discharge.
And you can either do this exercise by listing all the events first. And when you also do that, and you see all the events in front of you your whole life in front of you. There's a healing that takes place because you get a different perspective on your entire experience of life. You can either do it that way, so listing everything or as you're doing this exercise While you're writing an event, you can write about it for five minutes straight. Before you go into the next exercise, before going to the next event, I prefer that you actually write down each event in a point form. And then later on once a day, pick one event and write about it continuously.
Okay, so for the next two weeks or three weeks, depending on the amount of traumas that you've had, allow you to continue doing this exercise. And then there'll be other exercises like forgiveness exercises, and tapping techniques. And there's an exercise called permission to heal giving yourself permission to heal. All these excellent I'd like you to do all these exercises on all these events in your timeline journal. Okay. Now, if some of these events are very strong or very traumatizing, I suggest you do these exercises with a therapist.
Don't do them on your own. Okay. So again, always seek medical advice or be under the care of a qualified counselor or psychotherapist, and you can even Skype with me if you want to have counseling sessions. Before doing any of these exercises, I'm not only saying this as a medical disclaimer, it is important, right? Some people go through significant significant painful events in their life and do these exercises on their own is not good enough. So maybe start with mild events, something that's not so traumatic and practices exercises on those less traumatic events, so that you're comfortable with these exercises.
And at least you get some healing taking place. Yeah. And that will also make it easier for you to work with a counselor, because you've prepared your emotional intelligence in a healing way, so that when you go for therapy, you can go through transformations much quicker. Hopefully that helps. So please do this timeline. journal.
